The manufacture of PET containers can be made with single-stage or a 2-stage process. The single-stage process, based on the concept of integrating the preform injection process with the preform stretch-blowing process, obtains a container directly from plastic resin in a single machine. The 2-stage process features the manufacture of plastic containers in two separate stages: firstly, the preforms are made on an injection machine.
